Governance roles (more complex gov. placed on hold due to lack of volunteers and voting) 8/30/23

Community Governance Roles -Anyone can apply or propose the creation of a role and be elected through a community vote.

Community ambassador, moderators, and auditors will become approved users if not already. Giving them post and comment ability in the sub.

  1. Community Ambassador (CA) - Can remove community leaders if not acting in accordance with community votes - How to implement - Mods are removed and readded underneath lead account chosen by community. Limitation of the way Reddit is setup. This is the best guard against unruly power along with the auditor role. Will be Real_Eyezz for now until someone else / others voted in.

2.Moderators- various in number and powers depending on community vote. By default, outside of the CA who really isn't a moderator, or will shift away from that role, these can have the same privileges unless adjustment by vote is deemed necessary. The actions of each particular mod is recorded and the auditor role can take that into consideration in their reports.

3.Auditor - Should be independent and agree to not form relationships with mods or ambassador. No moderator privileges by default- once a month report of moderators actions taken. Maintain anonymity of members that were subject to enforcement actions, warnings etc. of respect, and per Reddit rules of doxxing etc ( and how that may be interpreted).

  1. ? Future roles can be created by the sub. All of the above are volunteer roles which can take considerable effort and time. Any drastic changes, or new responsibilities for current contributors should have that in mind, and be discussed with them. It's worth considering new roles created if it's well outside their current responsibilities or time constraints etc.

  2. Proposal creator (matter to be voted on and placed in a post).

  3. Sub voter

More details on the ambassador and auditor roles

The auditor role is currently not filled (although there is currently no cap on moderators and that is another role available). I will fill the ambassador role for now (Real_Eyezz), but if this role interests you, you are welcome to write up a short proposal replacing me, and be voted in by the community when voting goes live.

-Community ambassador role: Access to moderator views - Aim - audit moderators periodically or at request of community to ensure they are acting in line with community voting.

-Auditor role : A level of anonymity can be maintained regarding posts and users removed, suspended etc. with a report of each instance speaking in generalities to avoid reddit doxxing and other rules and false AI reports, or malicious reporting. If the sub grows to larger levels, more summation of actions can occur instead of individual actions, but more detail on decisions that were in a more grey area, that the community may find worth discussing.
